JOB KEEPER SUPPORT!!

Are you an employer who has had to let staff go since 01/03/2020?  Do you know someone who was working on March 1st but they lost their jobs? See links- Fact sheet -supporting business ATO

There is a new government assistance called the Job keeper support.  This might help you or someone you know.

What does it do:

  1. Employers will be given $1500 (before tax) for every worker, every two weeks to keep their workers or to re-hire them.
  2. This money must go to the worker, (even if this is more money than they earned before).
  3. It will be paid to the business from the first week of May but be backdated to March 30.
  4. Workers had to be working for the business for at least a year.
  5. Even casuals and part-timers can get this $1500 through their boss.
  6. To get the money, employers must prove to the Tax Office that their business has made less money (at least 30% less than this time last year).
  7. If the worker has gone onto unemployment benefits, they have to give this back and stop this money coming to them when they start getting the $1500.
  8. The business owner can also get this money if they also work for the business.
  9. It will go for six months.

Conditions apply – not every business is going to be eligible. There is more information in the facet sheet attached. this is just one of many supports that have come out in the past two weeks to help businesses during COVID-19. if you have questions, please check out our Wugu Nyambil blog post-http://wugunyambil.com.au/blog/) where you will find more information about all the supports- we are updating this daily at the moment. you can also call on 0472 538 359 or you can call the Queensland Government’s Business Hotline: 1300 654 687.

Yours sincerely,
